Outdoors

At Avrajita, it’s easy to surrender to the sights and sounds of nature. Stroll through the gardens, explore bush tracks, or find a quiet place to take in the stunning views or meditate.

Swim amongst the water lilies in the dam – you might be lucky enough to spot a freshwater turtle! Or simply relax in the shade and contemplate the myriad of reflections in the water.

For those that wake with the birds, why not embrace the day with a brisk walk or jog through the bush and be witness to the first rays of sunlight? You’ll almost certainly be greeted by wallabies, wombats and any number of native birds. For the cycling enthusiast, bring your bike and take an early morning ride along the adjoining country roads. Don’t forget your camera!

Our rainforest walks take you across old creek beds and meander through the forest floor, past tree ferns, native orchids and to rocky outcrops looking across the valley. We can also organise for a guide to take you on longer walks through the rainforest to the Kangaroo River.

For the more adventurous (and fit!) guided walks can be arranged directly from the property to nearby Mt Carrialoo. Local tour operators also offer a variety of packages specifically for groups, with pick-up and drop-off at Avrajita. Activities include bushwalks, trail rides, kayaking, mountain biking and cater for all levels of experience. Visit the Tourist Association website for details.

However you choose to connect with nature during your stay at Avrajita, make sure you help yourself to whatever’s growing in the orchard and herb garden!
